Digital Rapids' focus is on the convergence of traditional broadcast technology and the generalized processing and network capabilities found in many of today's leading edge computers. Digital Rapids' owners and company directors have been in the broadcast and professional video marketplace for over 15 years. Prior to forming Digital Rapids many of them were directly involved in the start-up and success of Digital Processing Systems, a $60 million company, and before that they were part of Scientific Atlantic.

Digital Rapids' President, Brick Eksten, has held key management positions at several companies including Chief Technology Officer of MGI software, Director of MGI's E-imaging, as well as, Director of Technology at Digital Processing Systems. At DPS he was directly involved with concept and development of a line of studio and post production products that won numerous awards including an Emmy Award for pioneering work on digital video recording. His achievements include the co-development of the first full motion PC based video playback and recording systems (1983) and the first PC based full motion video special effects systems.

The company's Research & Development department has been together for over 10 years, participating in the development of products for Digital Processing Systems and other related companies. The team of Digital Rapids engineers design and develop the hardware and software applications that are proprietary to Digital Rapids products. This team not only has the educational pedigree from such institutions as the University of Waterloo but the years of research and practical knowledge in the broadcast/video market that makes them leaders in this field.

Digital Rapids has been in business since 2001, with corporate offices in North America, Europe and Asia.  Each region employs dedicated sales and support personnel. Our products are in operation around the world assisting not only broadcasters, Fortune 500 companies, post production facilities, film companies and education environments, but a host of other professional and commercial industries.
